Discover the "Land of High Passes" on this thrilling 9-day adventure to Ladakh. Flying into Leh at 3,500 metres, you'll acclimatise gently while exploring ancient monasteries perched on dramatic cliffs. Drive over the world's highest motorable passes, Khardung La and Chang La, both above 5,300 metres. Marvel at the surreal, changing colours of Pangong Tso, the lake that stretches across the border into Tibet.
This is a journey for the adventurous soul, offering stark, breathtaking landscapes, unique Tibetan Buddhist culture and unforgettable mountain vistas. We follow strict acclimatisation rules: two easy days in Leh before any high pass, an oxygen cylinder in every vehicle and a driver who has worked these roads for years. All permits, accommodation, breakfasts and dinners are included. The season is short, from June to September, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Morning flight over the Himalayas. Complete rest at the hotel for the day: drink plenty of water and avoid exertion. Short evening walk to the Leh market if you feel well.
Gentle sightseeing: Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and the Hall of Fame museum. Afternoon at Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery.
Drive to Hemis, Ladakh's largest monastery, then Stakna and Matho. Evening free.
Cross Khardung La (5,359 m) and descend into the green Nubra Valley. Diskit Monastery with its giant Maitreya statue and sunset camel ride on the Hunder dunes.
Follow the Shyok River on the direct road to Pangong Tso (6 hours). Afternoon on the lakeshore watching the water shift from blue to green. Overnight in a lakeside camp.
Sunrise over the lake, then drive back to Leh over Chang La (5,360 m), stopping at Chemrey Monastery. Evening at leisure.
Drive west to the 1,000-year-old murals of Alchi, the Likir Monastery and the Magnetic Hill. Visit the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers; optional rafting on the Zanskar.
Free day for shopping, a cooking class with a Ladakhi family or a short hike to the Tsemo Gompa above the town.

Only Indian postpaid SIM cards work in Ladakh. Leh has decent 4G; Nubra and Pangong have limited coverage.
